Reverse osmosis desalination multistage centrifugal pump(RDMCP) just is the high-pressure pump which is ROD type used in desalination. “The research of ton membrane desalination key technology and equipment” is the eleventh five-year national science and technology support program and it is responsible for HeFei HuaSheng Pumps&Valves CO.,LTD to complete the task of the R&D of it’sproducts. For ton membrane desalination device parameters required, we propose a new type multi-stage and high-pressure pump with axial suction structure, and the successful development of a prototype machine for the first time applied to desalination demonstration projects has been got.It fills the blank of national membrane desalination domestic high-pressure pump.In 11,2012 , it has been passed by China Machinery Industry Federation Organization. And, the products, the composite limiting ring and the mechanical seal design have been received patents or declared for patents. In desalination units, the temperature has changed during the year and the pump outlet pressure has changed from 4.5 MPa to 6.0 Mpa .The device uses inverter control technology, therefore it can save 900,000 kWh a year. It uses a small margin motor for configuration in order to improve the unit efficiency. This company’s series products of reverse osmosis desalination multistage centrifugal pumps are matched with these motors which have the power of 550kw. It fully meets the product specifications of KSB Pumps Company. The research results will be applied to products by this company. According to API 610 requirements, such solutions like using coarser trunnion for support structure , using short cantilever , using double spiral structure , balancing the radial force in hydraulic have been used for improving the reliability of the pumps with high pressure water which comes from outside. From the aspects of the the design of overall structure , hydraulic design ,thermal processing , etc. , the efficiency of the pumps has been improved and it has been up to 80% reaching the international advanced level . On the design of the sliding bearing of multistage pump , the company uses German west Gerry isostatic pressing molding material of bearing which has the characteristics of high shore hardness up to70, high strength , good abrasion resistance. And, the pumps made from this material have good isotonicity. The use of axial suction-type structure and water-lubricated bearings makes the structure of pump simpler and more compact and reduces the cost of the pump. The specified life of the complete machine is 20 years and the specified life of bearings and mechanical seal is 10,000 hours. RO high-pressure pump is designed specifically for the research and development of reverse osmosis desalination pump . In order to adapt to high osmotic pressure and meet the demand for the transport of seawater ,the high-pressure pump needs to have particularly good quality. Under normal circumstances, the pumps could be in operation for 8000 hours at least. Considering the high-pressure pump is a major energy-consuming equipment in the reverse osmosis desalination plant , its long-running is one of the main factors affecting products cost. Therefore, the high-pressure pump must be guaranteed with good efficiency and the same pump also can be used as boiler feed pump.
The design of RO high-pressure pump is reflected in the design of highly optimized for each part. Products using internal sliding bearing with self lubrication by medium is conducive to the formation of short bearing span. And no oil / grease lubricated for bearings ensures the purity of seawater. It needs only one mechanical seal ,therefore,it reduces costs and the inventory of spare parts.
